Class of 2018 Coming to the Composting Education Program
Beginning this month, the Composting Education Program will embark on training a new class of Master Composters. This intensive 50+ hour training provides participants with the necessary skills to effectively teach community members about the importance of organic waste recycling. Combining hands-on learning with guest speaker lectures, we seek to deliver a comprehensive, diverse, educational experience.
Class of 2016
With the recent state-wide efforts to divert this type of waste from landfills, the work of Master Composters and the Composting Education Program is increasingly relevant. Providing hands-on, hyper localized adult and k-12 instruction the program seeks to increase diversion rates, heighten awareness of the environmental benefits of composting and foster civic engagement through volunteering. UCCE is excited to welcome this new group of “rot stars” to the Composting Education Program.
If you are interested in having a Master Composter assist your organization, please feel free to reach out to the Rot Crew at 408-918-4640.
