FEEDSTOCKS
Feedstocks are the raw ingredients for composting. They are organic materials, usually solid, and usually in an active state of decomposition. More than any other factor, the feedstocks determine the character of the composting and the temperament of the composting process
Ingredientes
Las materias primas son los materiales orgánicos que se agregan al compost, los materiales que está intentando descomponer. Para una pila de abono en el jardín, sus ingredientes deben ser aproximadamente un 50 % "verdes" y un 50 % "marrones" por volumen. Los verdes son materiales vegetales ricos en nitrógeno, principalmente vegetación verde y restos de comida, pero también incluye estiércol y posos de café (¡que no son de color verde!). Los marrones son materiales vegetales ricos en carbono que son por la mayoría de color marrón, como hojas muertas, materiales leñosos y paja. Son materiales orgánicos, generalmente sólidos, y normalmente en estado activo de descomposición.
